Photo Editor/Photographer Hybrid Role

We are currently searching for a professional with both photography as well as photo editing experience for this hybrid role. This position will be full-time, and should include the below criteria.

Photo Editor

We are looking for a talented Photo Editor who will play a major role in defining and maintaining our visual style and ensuring all features are fully optimized for readers, search engines and the company’s commercial objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years of photo editing experience and will have the following skills:

Must have skills

  • Excellent and extensive portfolio
  • In-depth knowledge of computer imaging and  studio management
  • X years of experience with digital technology 
  • Attention to details
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Determine photography needs on a daily basis
  • Develop and manage calendars
  • Plan, organize, and manage production and events
  • Assign projects to other photographers and manage their work
  • Give useful feedback to photographers about their progress
  • Choose the best photos for publishing
  • Ensure that the resources and equipment are used properly
  • Work and communicate with editors, photographers, and advertising reps 
  • Stay up to date with the new best practices and editing technologies

Photographer

We are looking for a passionate photographer who can use images to tell a story. This successful candidate will be able to achieve technical, qualitative and quantitative goals while meeting project needs and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years of photography experience and will have the following skills:

Must have skills

  • Proven professional shooting experience
  • Eye-catching portfolio
  • Proficient with traditional and modern equipment
  • Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, or other photography specific software
  • Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of production process for online publishing and various printing applications
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Photography degree or similar

Responsibilities

  • Take the brief to understand specifications and work closely with our art team to develop the concept
  • Capture and process images until you achieve desired results
  • Constantly improve image quality using various editing methods
  • Use and maintain modern and traditional technical equipment (cameras, lenses, etc.)
  • Arrange objects, scenes, lighting, and background to adhere to specifications
  • Archive photographic images and maintain database
  • Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures
